Surge Protection
What is it?
The Residential Surge Protection Program provides for the protection of both the electronics and appliances in your home against surges that can be carried through electrical lines, phone lines and cable lines.
Qualifications

Marietta Power residential, single-family homeowners living in an individually metered home (no grouped meter installations)

Must have proper grounding - improper grounding must be corrected by a licensed electrician

Entry points for cable and telephone must be located within 5 feet of the electric meter
Warranty

Warranty provided by Tesco (manufacturer of surge protection equipment)

Customers receive protection of up to $50,000 for repair or replacement per incident, and up to $5,000 per item
- Well and pool pumps are covered if wired to main electric panel
Pricing
The pricing is $9.99/month and includes one protection device for your home's electric meter, one for a cable/satellite line, and one for a phone line. A one-time, up-front installation cost of $25.00 is required, along with a three year contract.
